Senator Don Huffines Endorsed by TEXPAC
[DALLAS, TX] – Today, Senator Don Huffines announced that he received the endorsement of TEXPAC, the Texas Medical Association (TMA)’s bipartisan political arm that helps to elect medicine-friendly candidates at the local, state, and federal level. They released their endorsement after a close evaluation of Senator Huffines’ positions and record as it relates to healthcare.
“TEXPAC enthusiastically endorses Senator Don Huffines for reelection to Texas Senate District 16 for many reasons; first and foremost, he’s always accessible to physicians in the district and he understands the business side of medicine,” said TEXPAC Chair Robert Rogers, MD. “Senator Huffines will continue his work to ensure physicians are paid for the care we provide. He has also provided votes on critical public health issues that have greatly improved the health of all Texans.”
Created in 1962, TEXPAC is one of the oldest political action committees in Texas. With over 5,000 member physicians, TEXPAC works to advance TMA’s mission of improving the health of all Texans and enables TMA members to protect Texas patients through political education and activism.
Senator Huffines stated, “It’s a real honor to have the support of hundreds of physicians from right here in Dallas County. I’m proud of the steps we took last session to improve healthcare for patients and physicians, like the bill I authored and passed that delivers more federal dollars to Dallas hospitals without raising taxes or fees. However, there is still much more we can do to strengthen the doctor-patient relationship and make health care more affordable and accessible. I appreciate the work of TEXPAC and their member physicians to improve the health of all Texans. I look forward to getting back to work with Governor Abbott and my Senate colleagues to keep up the good work that we’ve started.”
