DALLAS, TX, July 15, 2021 — Following reports Washington Democrats intend to insert a mass amnesty provision into their $3.5 trillion budget plan, conservative Republican candidate for Texas governor Don Huffines condemned the proposal and called on the state’s Congressional delegation to oppose the measure.
Huffines said:
“Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Washington Democrats’ plan to grant mass amnesty to illegal aliens in their proposed budget is entirely unacceptable. Our border is less secure than it has ever been and every time the federal government has permitted amnesty it has invited millions of additional illegal aliens to cross our border and break our laws.
“The price of open borders is significant harm to the safety and security of our citizens and lower wages for our workers. Texans need leaders who will step up and fight against illegal immigration and put it to an end. I’m calling on U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz, John Cornyn, and our state’s entire 36-member congressional delegation to forcefully oppose the proposal to put illegals first and citizens second. Amnesty cannot be allowed to pass.”
