DALLAS, TX, September 21, 2021 — As the Texas Legislature convenes for its third special session, conservative Republican candidate for governor Don Huffines demanded Greg Abbott stop opposing legislation to require a forensic audit and instead add it to the agenda lawmakers are permitted to consider.
Huffines issued the following statement:
“Texans deserve to have confidence in their elections, but Greg Abbott is in the way. State Rep. Steve Toth has legislation that should provide a full forensic audit of the 2020 general election in Texas’s major counties. Still, Greg Abbott is blocking the Texas Legislature from passing the bill. It’s time for Greg Abbott to stop siding with Democrats and blocking this important legislation.”
Huffines further added:
“I’m a businessman, and when anyone tells me they aren’t in favor of an audit, I think they probably have something to hide. It’s time to know the full truth in Texas.”
Don Huffines is a proud fifth-generation Texan, husband, father, grandfather, and self-made entrepreneur. A committed conservative, Huffines is fighting to safeguard Texans’ elections, phase out property taxes, and secure the border once and for all. Huffines is challenging Gov. Greg Abbott from the right in the Texas Republican primary. Texans deserve leadership. No excuses.
