Huffines Sweeps SREC Endorsements
Supermajority of Texas GOP Leadership Endorse Don Huffines for Comptroller
DALLAS, TX, APRIL 23, 2025 – Conservative Republican businessman and former State Senator Don Huffines announced today that he has been endorsed by a supermajority of the State Republican Executive Committee (SREC), the governing body of the Republican Party of Texas (RPT).
“This is a movement and our message is simple – as your Texas Comptroller, I will DOGE our government to improve efficiency and root out waste and fraud. I’ll fight to return the savings to Texas taxpayers. Our message is winning throughout Texas, and that’s why our campaign is earning support from every corner of the state,” said Huffines.
“I am truly humbled to have earned the unprecedented support of a supermajority of State Republican Executive Committee members. Grassroots support is the foundation of a successful campaign. It doesn’t get any more grassroots than the SREC,” Huffines continued.
The SREC is the beating heart of the Republican Party in Texas, comprising of one man and one woman from each of the state’s 31 Senate Districts. These 62 members are elected biennially by thousands of GOP delegates at the state convention to represent their Senate Districts. Their endorsement reflects deep grassroots momentum behind Huffines’ campaign.
“Don Huffines is winning and it isn’t close. The score is 44-0. That’s 44 SREC members for Don and 0 for anyone else – a total shutout. This race is shaping up to be the grassroots MAGA Republicans versus the Establishment Republicans. That tells you everything you need to know about where the momentum is. Huffines has it,” said Allen Blakemore, senior strategist to the Huffines Campaign.
