Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to the Don Huffines Campaign. To better protect your privacy, we provide this notice explaining our information practices.
It is the standard policy of the Don Huffines Campaign to guard the privacy of our supporters.
The types of personally identifiable information that may be collected to comply with Texas state campaign finance laws include, but are not limited to, name, address, email address, telephone number, occupation, and employer.
When you make an electronic donation or payment on donhuffines.com, we collect personal information such as your name, billing address, and email address. We also collect (but do not retain) credit card numbers that are processed by a third-party payment vendor subject to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards. If you use PayPal or a similar service, their use of your information is based on their terms of service and policies, not ours, so we encourage you to review those policies carefully.
How We Use the Information
Don Huffines Campaign may use the information you provide about yourself to keep you updated on events and information regarding the Don Huffines Campaign. You are free to unsubscribe from our email list at any time. We will disclose the information we maintain when required to do so by law.
When you donate to the Don Huffines Campaign, state law requires that we must report your name, address, and amount of your donation to the Texas Ethics Commission. Additionally, state law requires that we use our best efforts to collect information regarding your occupation and employer if your donation exceeds $1,080.00 in a reporting period. All of this information, except for your street address, is available to the public.
Vendors, Consultants, and Other Third-Party Service Providers.
We may share your data with third-party vendors, service providers, contractors, or agents who perform services for us or on our behalf and require access to such information to do that work. Examples include payment processing, data analysis, email delivery, hosting services, customer service, and marketing efforts. We may allow selected third parties to use tracking technology regarding interactions on our site, which will enable them to collect data about how you interact with our site over time. This information may be used to, among other things, analyze and track data, determine the popularity of certain content, and better understand online activity.
Our Commitment to Security
The Don Huffines Campaign has put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data security, and correctly use the information we collect.
