Hello, Patriots!
It has been a busy first week as Comptroller. My first act was refusing a taxpayer-funded salary because I work for you, not the government. I want every Texan to know they have a Comptroller who will be a taxpayer watchdog, making sure their money is used wisely.
Last week, I announced performance reviews across the agency because every successful organization measures performance, expects excellence, and holds itself accountable.
There is no shortage of work ahead, but we're moving with purpose and are focused on delivering the transparency and common-sense leadership Texans deserve.
My First Act as Comptroller: Refusing a Salary
I don't work for the government. I work for you.
That's why my first act as Texas Comptroller was refusing a taxpayer-funded salary.
I didn't come here for a paycheck.
I came here to be a good steward of your tax dollars and put Texas taxpayers first.
I'm here because I love Texas. And I'll never forget who I work for.

Hidalgo County Republican Party Lincoln Reagan Dinner
I joined a great group of Patriots at the Hidalgo County GOP Lincoln Reagan Dinner. The Republican Party is strongest when we stand united. From our grassroots volunteers to our statewide leaders, we're working together to keep Texas red.
It was also great to see Governor Greg Abbott, Senator Mayes Middleton, Attorney General Ken Paxton, Senator Adam Hinojosa, and the new Texas GOP Chairwoman, D’Rinda Randall.
